2 dead in stabbing, police-involved shooting in Surrey

SURREY — The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now investigating a stabbing and officer-involved shooting that led to both a victim and a suspect dead in Surrey Friday afternoon (May 29).

The Surrey Police Service says at around 1 p.m., frontline officers responded to a report of an assault at a building in the 13300 block of Old Yale Road and found two victims suffering from stab wounds, with the male suspect no longer on scene.

One victim died on scene, and the other was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police then found a male suspect “a short distance away”, and a confrontation then led to officers firing their service pistols and seriously injuring the man.
