Fraser Valley company fined over $34,000 for high-risk violation at Abbotsford work site

ABBOTSFORD – A Fraser Valley agricultural company has been fined over $34,000 for an occupational hazard at an Abbotsford work site.

In a news release sent to Fraser Valley Today, WorkSafeBC says it recently issued a penalty of $34,265.64 to SAM Enterprises Ltd. for a high-risk violation.

WorkSafeBC says it inspected this farm’s workplace and observed a tractor in use in a field without a rollover protective structure (ROPS) in place.  

When a rollover protective structure is absent and not in place, the operator can be seriously injured or killed if the tractor rolls over.
