Violent sex offender set to be released in Abbotsford Monday

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department is advising the public about the release of a sex offender into the community.

Police say 46-year-old Stephen Bradley Ewing is scheduled for release from William Head Institution on Monday, March 30, and will be living in the Abbotsford area.

His criminal history includes convictions for sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm – including an offence with a victim under 16 – and overcoming resistance by choking in 2021 and 2023.

Ewing is bound under several release conditions, namely staying away from places with unaccompanied children under 16 (e.g. daycares, schools, rec centres), keeping from jobs or volunteer work that can put him in trust of children under 16, staying away from sex trade workers, not consuming or purchasing drugs or alcohol, and not using any device with Internet access unless authorized by his parole supervisor.
