J.T. Veney Commits to Long Island University

Chilliwack, B.C. — The Chilliwack Chiefs are proud to announce that defenceman J.T. Veney has committed to Long Island University and will join the LIU Sharks for the upcoming season.
Veney has been a key presence on the Chiefs’ blue line, using his size, reach, and mobility to impact the game in all zones. Known just as much for his character as his play, he’s developed into a dependable defender and respected teammate during his time in Chilliwack.
“J.T. is one of the best to come through our program as far as a person. He has all the makings to become a really effective defender at the next level. Anytime you can cover the ice the way he does with his size and reach, he has a chance.” Said Head Coach & GM Brian Maloney, “Now he gets to go into university and put it all together. We’re proud of how far he’s come, and he’ll be a big part of our playoff push.”
