Firefighters tackle house fire in Mission Thursday morning

MISSION — Crews put out a major house fire in a Mission neighbourhood on Thursday (Mar. 26).

At around 11 a.m., four members of the Mission Fire Rescue responded to the call about a burning two-storey residence on Fennel Street and found heavy flames and smoke coming from the home.

All occupants were safely evacuated while crews doused the fire from within and outside the home. 

Additional resources were brought in shortly after to support the response to the incident.

“Thanks to the fast actions and teamwork of our firefighters, the situation was contained and prevented from spreading to nearby homes,” said Mission Firefighters. “We’re proud of the dedication and professionalism shown on scene today.”
