ABBOTSFORD – Police in Abbotsford have submitted a medical fitness test to the province after a two-vehicle crash Monday night caused a motorist to leave the roadway and strike an Abbotsford bank earlier this week.

According to a statement from Abbotsford PD spokesperson Paul Walker, AbbyPD patrol officers were called to the 32900 block of South Fraser Way this past Monday, Feb. 9 at approximately 5:19 p.m. Police were advised about a reported vehicle that had struck the side of the CIBC bank on South Fraser.

On arrival, officers observed a grey Toyota Corolla lodged between the sidewalk and the building’s windows and exterior wall.

Sgt. Walker says an investigation determined that two vehicles had collided near the intersection of South Fraser Way and Bourquin Crescent. The impact caused the Toyota Corolla to leave the roadway and collide with the CIBC building. The Corolla sustained extensive damage, while a Nissan Maxima involved in the initial collision received minor damage.
