CHILLIWACK/ABBOTSFORD/SURREY/CALGARY – Police in Surrey say several Criminal Code charges have been sworn against a man for his alleged involved in a multi-city semi-trailer theft ring, including Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Surrey.

According to a statement from Surrey Police Service, detectives from the SPS Prolific Offender Unit launched an investigation in December 2024 into the alleged theft of 14 semi-trailers worth over $1,000,000 after SPS received a report that trailers had been stolen from a semi-trailer dealer in Surrey.

The investigation, which spanned Surrey, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Calgary, led detectives to discover reports of other stolen trailers in other cities. A suspect was identified by SPS’s Prolific Offender Unit and multiple search warrants were executed at properties in Chilliwack and Surrey. Police say a number of semi-trailers, tools, and vehicles were seized.
