Adel Gamar to headline Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards
ABBOTSFORD — Internationally respected leadership expert Adel Gamar is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards on March 4.
Gamar, the CEO of boutique leadership consultancy GLG Ltd., will present Relentless Optimist & Our Shared Humanity. Gamar is expected to bring his global perspective to the evening, shaped by work with organizations that focused on equity, education and cross-cultural collaboration. Gamar has acted as an advisor to leaders in Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits and governments. His background includes roles with UNESCO and Harvard Law School, where he taught adaptive leadership and co-facilitated a global education think tank.
Gamar serves on several boards, including Douglas College, where he became board chair in 2022. He also co-founded the Gamar Foundation, which supports youth engagement and public good initiatives.
Established in 2003, the Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards recognize organizations, businesses and community initiatives promoting inclusivity and diverse representation. 80 nominees are shortlisted across five categories, including a new Intercultural Arts, Culture and Events award.
