ABBOTSFORD – Police in Abbotsford say a 35-year-old man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a man at Real Canadian Superstore on Gladwin Road in Abbotsford over the weekend.
According to a statement from Abbotsford PD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to Superstore just after 3:30 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 31) for an assault in progress. Once officers arrived on scene, they were directed to a 35-year-old man who was attempting to leave the area after he had assaulted a man at the store.
Sgt. Walker says the 35-year-old man was arrested for assault and released on conditions with a future court date.
“The circumstances around the assault still remain under investigation. At this time, it appears the suspect and the victim did not know each other,” Sgt. Walker told Fraser Valley Today in an email.
