One person transported to hospital after car crashes into semi-truck, sending it off Hwy. 1 (VIDEO)

ABBOTSFORD – One person has been transported to hospital after a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck happened Saturday afternoon in Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford Police Department says emergency first responders were dispatched to Highway 1 at the Peardonville Road overpass after a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle crashed at 4:17 p.m. Saturday.

One person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

There were no road closures in the aftermath of the crash, as both eastbound lanes of Highway 1 remained open.

Crews were expected to be working in the area throughout the evening to help clear the wreckage and debris from the crash.

Police say early indications suggest the passenger vehicle lost control and struck the semi‑truck, causing it to leave the highway.

Video of the incident shows a motorist losing control of a passenger vehicle and slamming into the semi-truck, which then veers off Highway 1 and onto a road adjacent to the highway.
