Power restored after downed tree causes outage in Abbotsford

UPDATE: Power has now been restored in Abbotsford.

ABBOTSFORD — A downed tree across hydro wires has left a little under 500 customers without power in Abbotsford Wednesday morning.

BC Hydro’s online outage dashboard indicates 485 customers lost power at 10:27 a.m. due to a downed tree.

Crews are on their way and expected to arrive by noon.

The affected area includes Matsqui and Ridgedale.

There is currently no expected time when power might be restored to these Abbotsford customers.

There are two much smaller power outages in Chilliwack Wednesday morning affecting less than 20 customers, one of which is due to a planned outage.
