BOSTON BAR — Mounties in Hope are appealing to the public for help as they investigate an armed robbery involving a man who was foraging along a rural forest service road in Boston Bar.

According to a statement from Hope RCMP spokesperson S/Sgt. Mike Sargent, Mounties in Boston Bar responded to a reported robbery on the Uztlius Forest Service Road in Boston Bar on Monday, Oct. 20 at 6:12 p.m.

Police say a man who was foraging along the rural forest service road was threatened by several individuals, one of which was armed with a knife. The suspects tried to steal the man’s truck and utility trailer. The man managed to get away and met up with a relative who was further along the road.

While en route to the police detachment, the two men spotted the suspects towing their utility trailer. When they attempted to confront them, they were met with threats, physical violence and had a firearm pointed at them before fleeing for their safety.

“The trailer has since been recovered, and charges are being recommended against several of the individuals involved,” said S/Sgt. Sargent. “We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident or captured dashcam footage, and who has not yet spoken to police, to please come forward.”

The investigation is open and remains active.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Boston Bar RCMP at 604-867-9333 or, should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
