UPDATE: Heavy police presence fills downtown Chilliwack overnight after physical altercation
UPDATE 12:25 p.m. TUESDAY: A spokesperson for the Chilliwack RCMP says police were called to Yale and Princess Avenue early Tuesday morning after an RCMP member witnessed people engaged in a fight.
βOn September 9, 2025 at approximately 0114 hrs, a member conducting routine patrol in the area of Yale Road and Princess Ave observed individuals engaged in a physical altercation. Upon further investigation, it was determined the fight was consensual, and neither parties wished to pursue charges,β the RCMP wrote in a statement to Fraser Valley Today.
CHILLIWACK β Details are very slim at this point, but multiple Chilliwack RCMP officers flooded the downtown intersection of Five Corners early Tuesday morning (Sept. 9)
According to information sent to Fraser Valley Today by witness Hailey VanBasten, police blocked the road from Yale Road to Five Corners, including Princess Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. An estimated eight or more police cars were present in front of the Chilliwack Law Courts building. One ambulance was present.
