Another Facebook commenter who lives in the Greendale area said the collision took out a road sign.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener confirmed that police attended Saturday night.

“I can confirm that we did respond to a collision as you described. We suspect the driver took off on foot,” Cpl. Kiener said. “Police did not locate the driver, even though efforts were exhausted.”

Cpl. Kiener says the investigation is ongoing to determine the identity of the driver and what if any charges are applicable.

A Greendale resident told Fraser Valley Today that police were set up and parked on multiple roads north of the accident scene, including Highway 1, looking for the driver. At one point, RCMP cruisers used their vehicle spotlights to look for the driver. The area was block off from through traffic.
