Chilliwack goalkeeper commits to play university soccer up north
CHILLIWACK — The University of Northern British Columbia announced Wednesday (Feb. 26) that its soccer program has signed 5-foot-11 goalkeeper Taylor Klassen from Chilliwack for the fall 2025 season and beyond.
Klassen, 17, attends Chilliwack Secondary School and played for the Chilliwack Storm under head coach Daniel Northgraves. Klassen was a three-year starter at the high school level and earned MVP honours in 2024.
Klassen plays for Tzeachten FC, coached by Kevin Raffle, at the club level. In 2023, Klassen helped the Tzeachten FC Eagles achieve a silver medal at the provincial championships, and won gold at the B.C. Coastal Cup. Just a year before, Klassen’s team won gold in provincials and silver in the B.C. Coastal Cup.
UNBC noted Klassen’s height and athleticism will be strong attributes of hers.
