Driver tells AbbyPD officer to ignore impairment, gets licence suspended

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department has now shared a bizarre encounter with an impaired driver Saturday morning (Feb. 22).

At around 9 a.m., a patrol officer stopped a vehicle and found a class 1-licence driver impaired by alcohol.

Baffled, the police department wrote in a social media post: “Can you believe that the driver asked our officer if he could ‘Ignore this’ and just drive him home?”

The driver received a 90-day driving suspension, and his vehicle was impounded.
