Man wanted in Nanaimo, accused of beating a small dog

NANAIMO — Police in Nanaimo are trying to locate and identify a man allegedly seen abusing a small dog.

Mounties report just before noon on Wednesday (Feb. 12), a witness reported a man beating a small brown dog.

“The witness saw him pick up the dog and toss it “like a football” across the road, put it into a black shopping bag, and then punch it several times,” police said in a statement.

After the witness confronted the man about what she’d seen, he allegedly became confrontational and threatened her, according to police.
