Chilliwack RCMP invite community to open house event
CHILLIWACK — Mounties with the Chilliwack RCMP detachment are inviting the community to get to know their local police officers and participate in a variety of family-friendly activities later this month.
The open house event will be held Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 45924 Airport Road in Chilliwack. Attendees will have a chance to see and experience the following activities and attractions:
- Police Dog Services
- Tactical troop
- Cops for Cancer
- Detachment/jail tour
- Recruiting
- 911 dispatchers
- RCMP drone program
- Face painting
- Impaired goggles challenge
- Motorcycles, ATVs, boats and canoes
- Photo opportunities with Mounties in red serge
- Sgt. Safety Bear
- BBQ hot dogs by the Chilliwack Fire Department (by donation)
Police say people who are considering a career in policing are especially invited to attend as the federal police force is continually hiring. The RCMP recruiting team and police officers who work in a variety of roles and positions will be available to answer questions.
