Highway 1 traffic halted by young family of geese

CHILLIWACK — DriveBC has posted video of a unique traffic situation involving a family of geese getting help from motorists to cross a busy Vancouver area freeway.

The video shows one adult goose and what appears to be at least five goslings trying to cross Highway 1 in Burnaby at about 5:30 p.m. in rush hour traffic.

The video also shows traffic coming to a stop on the freeway as motorists help the wayward family make it safely across the highway.

DriveBC’s post thanks those who slowed down and stopped to help the family, saying “You never know when or where you’ll encounter wildlife of B.C. highways.”
