No injuries in Chilliwack trailer fire
CHILLIWACK — Firefighters were busy overnight dousing a fire in a fifth-wheel trailer in the 8000 block of Lickman Road. 18 firefighters from Halls 1 and 4 were called to the home at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday (Mar. 23).
They arrived to find the trailer engulfed in flames. The lone occupant of the trailer managed to make it out of the burning trailer.
Quick work by firefighters brought the blaze under control, preventing the flames from leaping to other nearby units. Serious damage was limited to the original trailer although other units did sustain minor fire and smoke damage.
“We are proud to commend the hard work and dedication of our crews in swiftly bringing the situation under control,” stated Krista Minar, the Assistant Fire Chief of Prevention & Investigations in a statement from the Chilliwack Fire Department.
