Maple Ridge shooting sends one to hospital
MAPLE RIDGE— Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating a brazen daylight shooting that occurred Saturday (Jan. 20) around 2:40 p.m. near the intersection of 123 Avenue and 222 Street in Maple Ridge.
When frontline officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a collision involving two vehicles. One of the drivers was found to be suffering from gunshot wounds and was immediately transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services.
Simultaneously police were alerted to a report of a vehicle engulfed in flames in the 20800 block of 123 Avenue. Investigators suspect the two incidents are directly connected.
The Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Investigative Support Team and Serious Crimes Unit led the investigation and closed 123 Avenue between 222 Street and Hillside Street to gather evidence.
