Chilliwack Search and Rescue recruiting for new members at informational meeting on January 20
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack Search and Rescue, one of the busiest rescue agencies in the province, is recruiting for new members who have a passion for serving the public in all kinds of emergency scenarios.
Chilliwack SAR will hold an information meeting session at Chilliwack City Hall (8550 Young Road) on Saturday, January 20 at 1 p.m. to inform prospective members about its roster of volunteers, what it does, and what they’re looking for as it relates to skills, experience and availability in potential candidates.
Members of the Chilliwack community are invited to meet a few team members, watch a presentation, submit questions and discern whether Chilliwack SAR is a good fit. Applications will be made available immediately following the informational meeting.
Candidates must be 19 years of age or older to apply, live and/or work in Chilliwack, and be poised to commit to at least 300 hours of training, tasks and SAR activities.
