MISSION — Mission RCMP say two people who are known to police have been arrested for weapons offences and uttering threats in connection to what police called a high-risk incident over the weekend.

According to a statement from RCMP spokesperson Corporal Harrison Mohr, Mission RCMP received a report on Sunday, Deceber 10 that a 42-year-old man had threatened another man with a firearm at a home on Dewdney Trunk Road near Dalke Avenue in Mission. Police responded to the scene and arrested the 42-year-old man in addition to a 21-year-old female for weapons offences and uttering threats.

Mission RCMP say police remained at the residence for an extended duration while they procured a search warrant for the property, which was granted later that day in the evening on Sunday (Dec. 10). During the search, police located a firearm as well as a significant amount of stolen property, including an off-road vehicle and trailer.

“This was a high-risk and dynamic incident that our officers had to respond to immediately, without waiting for assistance from the Emergency Response Team,” Cpl. Mohr said. “The officers assessed the situation, identified the potential risk to public safety, and quickly took the suspects into custody. No one was injured as a result of the incident.”
