CHILLIWACK — The operator of the six-storey Paramount housing project on Yale Road in downtown Chilliwack says its building is now registered with the B.C. Housing Registry, meaning interested tenants can simply register through the provincial housing agency.

According to a Facebook post from Chilliwack Community Services on Tuesday (Nov. 14), the Paramount Building at 46187 Yale Road is officially on the BC Housing Registry, which helps to simplify the process for interested tenants.

The six-storey Paramount Building will provide 56 units of affordable housing for seniors and eight units to young adults, some of whom might be aging out of care. Of the 56 units, some will have deep subsidies while others will have under market rent prices.

CCS says there will be two steps for interested tenants to complete, starting with registering on the provincial Housing Registry and selecting the Paramount Building. Register at: https://loom.ly/zCFZ59M. Once that’s done, CCS will distribute invitations to complete the CCS Paramount Building tenancy application from the B.C. Housing Registry list.

To learn more about the project and join the Paramount mailing list, visit www.comserv.bc.ca/the-paramount.

According to a Facebook post earlier this month from CCS, the six-storey Paramount housing project is on the verge of having its housing units ready.

“The units are so close to being finished and then we’ll be sure to share more photos with you,” Chilliwack Community Services wrote on November 7 about a one-bedroom, adaptable unit on the sixth floor.

Chilliwack Community Services said on Nov. 7 that applications will be going out in the next couple weeks, but anyone who is interested needs to first register through the B.C. Housing Registry to start and then CCS would release a second application applicable to the Chilliwack community/Paramount building.

The bottom two floors of the six-storey building will house staff from Chilliwack Community Services.
