Measurements reveal ferociousness of weekend storm across Fraser Valley and the rest of southern B.C.
VANCOUVER — The small Sunshine Coast community of Port Mellon got the most rain in the province during the significant storm that moved through southern B.C. on Friday and Saturday
A summary of the storm from Environment Canada says Port Mellon accumulated 160 millimetres of rain over the two days. The next wettest locations were Pam Rocks with 109 millimetres of rain, and Squamish with 84 millimetres.
A total of 40 millimetres of rain fell on Hope, the highest amount in the Fraser Valley. The weather station at Cultus Lake recorded 33 millimetres of precipitation.
Meantime the Coquihalla Summit saw 27 centimetres of snow accumulate over the course of the storm. Allison Summit along Highway 3 measured 18 centimetres of snow.
