CHILLIWACK — The Popkum Fire Department has responded to a reported drowning Tuesday morning (July 25) involving an individual who was reportedly in a pool in a backyard.

According to scanner traffic, Popkum Fire responded to a possible drowning that reportedly occurred on Mathela Crescent on Cheam First Nation.

RCMP attended alongside Popkum Fire and ambulance personnel; cardiopulmonary resuscitation was in progress as of 7:57 a.m., according to initial reports from scanner traffic.
