Impaired drivers continue to keep Abbotsford police busy in 2022
ABBOTSFORD — Despite numerous campaigns aimed at eliminating impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel, Abbotsford police say officers pulled hundreds off of the roads in 2022.
In a social media post this weekend, AbbyPD says 881 impaired drivers were caught driving by its officers last year. That’s an average of more than 73 drivers every month.
Even more distressing is the fact the number of impaired driving cases in Abbotsford rose by 103 last year or 12 per cent.
AbbyPD say recently an impaired driver was removed from city streets with her two-year-old child in the vehicle with her.
