Chilliwack Chiefs hosting Beach Party Friday night to benefit food bank
CHILLIWACK — It may not feel like a trip to Hawaii, or look like summertime in Chilliwack, but the Chilliwack Chiefs nonetheless are trying their best to replicate the look and feel of a beach party Friday night for a great cause in Chilliwack.
The Chilliwack Chiefs will host their annual “Fill the Rink for the Foodbank” drive tonight (Dec. 30) in its “Beach Party” game against the Langley Rivermen at 7 p.m., with the help of Kent’s Ice Cream Company.
Fans are encouraged to ditch the normal jeans and sweater and grab a Hawaiian shirt, sunglasses, and a non-perishable food item. When fans bring a non-perishable food item to the Chilliwack Coliseum, they can purchase a ticket to the game for a special $10 rate.
“The Salvation Army Food Bank goes above and beyond during the holiday season. But the food bank and its users need help throughout the year, not only Christmas. This is a great opportunity for our community to help fill the food bank and stock them up for the start of 2023,” said Barry Douglas, Chiefs Team Governor and VP of Business Operations.
