Abbotsford police impound 6 vehicles for speeding Thursday

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department have stopped more than a handful of vehicles within a few hours on Thursday, October 23.

Between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., AbbyPD frontline officers clocked six cars for excessive speeding. Speeds ranged from 47 km/h over the speed limit – to 80 km/h over.

All vehicles were impounded for seven days, and drivers were fined between $368 and $483.

“Excessive speeding is not only expensive, it’s dangerous,” said AbbyPD in a social media post. “Drive smart. Drive safe.”

Police have impounded over 300 vehicles for excessive speeding, according to an update in late September this year.
