CHILLIWACK — After 27 years of feeding Chilliwack, the Mandarin Garden Buffet on Luckakuck Way has now been torn down.

The long-time restaurant announced its departure in early June due to the owners’ retirement and closed its doors for the last time on August 31.

Vancouver realtor Stella Yiu previously told Fraser Valley Today that the 225-seat buffet was sold for $5 million, but its buyer will not be moving forward with a restaurant business.

The owners’ granddaughter, Jennifer Leong-Tatlay, confirmed in a social media comment that the 39,771-square-foot property has been bought by La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries.
