Clara Tauson advances to NBO semifinals with straight-sets win over Madison Keys
MONTREAL — Clara Tauson is heading to the National Bank Open semifinals.
The 22-year-old from Denmark advanced to the final four with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Madison Keys of the United States in the women’s singles quarterfinals Tuesday.
Tauson, seeded 16th, dominated from start to finish, converting three of six breakpoint opportunities while saving all three she faced against the sixth-seeded Keys.
Tauson also knocked out world No. 3 Iga Swiatek 7-6 (1), 6-3 in the fourth round and hasn’t lost a set at the WTA 1000 event.
