Chilliwack Jets coach recognized for franchise-record season

CHILLIWACK — It didn’t take long for coach Chris Price to make an impact with the Chilliwack Jets in the Pacific Junior A Hockey League as the team’s bench boss.

Price, who’s been described as a leader, mentor and overall difference maker, guided the Jets to an exceptional 39-9-0 record this past season, earning him PJHL Coach of the Year honours.

“His passion, preparation, and commitment to the game made a clear impact both on the ice and in the locker room, earning the respect of players, staff, and fans across the league,” PJHL said.

The Jets’ win-loss record is a franchise record for the club.

“In just his second season behind the bench, Price guided the Jets to a standout year — setting a strong team culture, developing young talent, and keeping Chilliwack competitive night in and night out,” the team said. “Well-deserved recognition for a coach who’s building something special in Chilliwack.”

The 2023-24 hockey season was Price’s first full-time season with the Chilliwack Jets.

Price previously served as the Chilliwack Chiefs assistant and strength/conditioning Coach during the 2022-23 season. Prior to that, he spent three seasons as head coach and assistant general manager of the Aldergrove Kodiaks in the PJHL from 2019-2022. A certified personal trainer with CSEP-CPT (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology), Price has run hockey-specific training for players ranging from Minor Hockey to professionals. In addition, Price studied kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley.
