LYTTON — Police have identified the victim of a suspicious death in Lytton three years ago as a 27-year-old B.C. woman.

According to a statement from police Wednesday (Mar. 12), the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) continues to investigate the February 19, 2022, suspicious death of a 27-year-old woman in Lytton, who has been identified as Shenita Myers of Williams Lake.

On Feb. 19, 2022, RCMP frontline officers from the Lytton and Lillooet detachments responded to a complaint after Myers’ body was discovered in a Lytton home. Police say the circumstances surrounding Myers death were quickly considered suspicious.

The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) was engaged and has assumed conduct of the investigation, which is now being treated as a homicide. SED MCU investigators continue to speak with witnesses and people in the community.
