Abbotsford PD arrests armed teenager, issues statement about video circulating online
ABBOTSFORD — Context is everything, particularly when video emerges online about an arrest involving two youth.
According to a statement from the police agency, Abbotsford Police Department personnel say they are aware of a video posted Sunday night (Feb. 23) that depicts some kind of interaction between police and a pair of young adults. Fraser Valley Today has not seen the video in question.
Police say the incident happened Friday, February 14, at approximately 2:20 p.m., following multiple reports of teenagers passing around a handgun in a business parking lot in the 32500 block of South Fraser Way in Abbotsford.
Police say patrol officers located the youths and conducted a high-risk arrest near Denny’s on Simon Avenue. Both individuals were taken into custody safely without incident.
