University of the Fraser Valley celebrates Top Employer award

ABBOTSFORD — The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) has been recognized as one of British Columbia’s Top Employers for the 11th consecutive year. The annual award, part of the Canada’s Top Employer competition, highlights industry-leading organizations with outstanding workplace environments.

In a news release, UFV says the honour comes as the school celebrates its 50th anniversary and reinforces a strong foundation for the university’s future.

“This achievement reflects our commitment to fostering a workplace where inclusivity, excellence, integrity, and community truly thrive,” said Jackie Hogan, UFV’s V.P. of Administration. “Thank you to all who contribute to making this achievement possible, and I look forward to continuing our journey of success together.”

UFV’s inclusion in the 2025 list is attributed to several key factors. The university supports employee growth through a professional development fund, which covers expenses for conferences, tuition, professional memberships, and other learning resources.

Additionally, UFV offers a flexible health benefits plan, including a $1,000 health spending account that employees can use for medical or dental expenses or transfer to personal registered savings accounts.

The university also promotes employee well-being through monthly health awareness campaigns, weight loss programs, and subsidized fitness memberships. UFV’s Health Initiative steering committee has developed an integrated program focused on fostering a healthy work environment.
