Mission RCMP seeks identity of man who allegedly stole charity box containing donations

MISSION — Mounties in Mission are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly stole donated money from a charity box at a Tim Hortons location in late October.
According to a brief statement from police, a charity box meant to collect donations for Tim Hortons Camp Day was stolen from the counter of the fast food restaurant on London Avenue on Friday, October 25. Police say a man entered the store at approximately 7:10 p.m., allegedly stole the donation box and walked out.
Police are describing the alleged thief as a Caucasian male with short brown hair, a camouflage-style jacket and a black shoulder bag. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Mission RCMP detachment at 604-826-7161.
The incident was one of 266 calls for service Mission RCMP fielded between Monday, October 21 and Sunday, October 27. Police continue to remove impaired drivers from Mission-area roads. On Saturday, October 26, at approximately 10 p.m., an officer in the area of Cedar Street and Tunbridge Avenue observed a white Honda CRV driving erratically, and pulled it over to check the driver’s sobriety. Police say the driver stated he was just “practicing” his parking. The 32-year-old male driver from Mission failed two roadside screening tests, and received a 90-day driving prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impound.
