Snow arrives along Coquihalla Highway

Nov 1, 2024 | 9:33 AM

HOPE — Winter arrived along the Coquihalla Highway overnight with snow continuing to fall Friday (Nov. 1) morning.

Environment Canada predicted up to 10 cm of snow for the road between Hope and Merritt overnight, as a low-pressure system pushed into the B.C. Interior.

Images from DriveBC webcams show snow on the highway from the Zopkios Rest Area in the south, nearly all of the way to Kamloops in the north. Snow is also present along the Okanagan Connector linking Merritt to Kelowna.

One vehicle incident was been reported in the southbound lanes just south of Kamloops. The right lane of the highway was closed while authorities cleared away the incident.
