HARRISON — A Langley RCMP spokesperson says police have secured the van of a missing 82-year-old woman as search and rescue crews continue to canvass the area around where her vehicle was located.

According to a statement from Langley RCMP spokesperson Corporal Craig van Herk, police have secured Jane Whitehouse’s van that was found just off Harrison East Forest Service Road sometime over the weekend.

“I just spoke with the investigative lead here in Langley to get an update,” Cpl. van Herk told Fraser Valley Today in an email. “We have secured Jane’s van and continue to investigate and follow up on tips of possible sightings.”

Police spoke with the lead officer in Agassiz Tuesday just after noon and said SAR crews remain in the area where Whitehouse’s van was located.

“SAR searched yesterday and are back in the area today looking for Jane, or anything that would help lead us to her whereabouts,” Cpl. van Herk said. “We do continue to ask anyone with any information on Jane’s whereabouts to call their local police.”

On Monday, a Langley RCMP spokesperson confirmed that a minivan found on a remote Harrison-area road Sunday (Oct. 27) belonged to Whitehouse.
