SURREY – A pedestrian has died following a collision involving a vehicle on Sunday afternoon in Surrey, according to the RCMP.

Collision investigators say the incident occurred just after 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 128th Street and 76th Avenue.

“Despite lifesaving efforts, the person was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said in a statement.

The cause of the collision has not yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.

The incident resulted in the closure of 128th Street in both directions between 76th and 76A Avenue, causing “significant delays” for drivers in the area, according to the RCMP.

Detectives are seeking witnesses and any dash camera footage from anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident.
