Sardis Falcons blank Mission in wet, muddy battle
MISSION — The wet and muddy conditions during Friday’s steady downpours were no match for the determined Sardis Falcons.
The Falcons bounced back from a tough loss the week prior and returned to its winning ways with a 21-0 road victory over the Mission Roadrunners.
The Falcons continued their good season to date with strong play from their senior players, anchored by running back and linebacker Tim Bullert, who rushed the ball 13 times for 51 yards, and had 7 solo tackles and one interception on defence. Defensive end Cache Klein was dominant on the line of scrimmage as he picked up several tackles and one quarterback sack. Sardis capitalized on Mission turnovers. Senior defensive tackle Davyn Gallant recovered two fumbles, senior safety Kaein Jenner and linebacker Jeremy St. Denis had one recovery each.
Senior quarterback Blake Mailhot connected with Max Murphy and Jeremy St. Denis on touchdown scoring tosses. Mailhot also rushed for one touchdown on a 5-yard quarterback sneak.
