Over 12,000 votes already cast in Chilliwack-area ridings
CHILLIWACK — Over 12,000 voters in two Chilliwack-area ridings have already cast their ballots in advance voting ahead of this Saturday’s provincial election.
According to Elections BC, 5,881 people from the Chilliwack North riding took part in advance voting between Thursday, October 10 and Sunday, October 13. The most activity among the four voting days occurred Friday when 1,961 people cast a ballot.
Chilliwack North encompasses parts of east Abbotsford around Sumas Mountain Regional Park, and Chilliwack communities like Greendale, Popkum, Rosedale, Cheam, Fairfield Island, and most of Chilliwack north of Highway 1. It excludes most of Sardis because it only takes in a part of Chilliwack west of Vedder Road. There are 38,497 registered voters in Chilliwack North as of October 7.
There are 11 places to vote in the Chilliwack North riding this Saturday on Election Day, including Bernard Elementary School, Central Community School, Chilliwack Secondary School, East Chilliwack Elementary School, Evans Elementary School, Evergreen Hall, First Avenue Church, Greendale Elementary, McCammon Traditional School, Rosedale Traditional School, and Strathcona Elementary School.
