New partnerships, awards headline UFV Chilliwack community celebration
CHILLIWACK — Agricultural research, an inclusion and equity strategy, and a student wellness program are new partnerships the University of Fraser Valley’s (UFV) Chilliwack campus will take on in the coming year.
The collaborations, along with community awards, were revealed to about 250 students, staff, and community members at a Thursday event dubbed the ‘St’elt’elawtexw: A Celebration of Community.’
Prospera Credit Union and the Prospera Foundation are investing $500,000 into student wellness programming over the next three years, while Coast Capital will provide a $125,000 gift to support an inclusion and equity strategy addressing the needs of non-traditional students in the trades.
Meanwhile, Auguston Town Developments Inc. will contribute $80,000 to fund agricultural research with UFV’s Food and Agriculture Institute.
