SUMAS — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is reporting longer-than-normal wait times at four major border crossings in B.C. as of midday Sunday.

Travellers heading south to Washington via the Sumas crossing in Abbotsford experienced the shortest wait time, with an average of around 45 minutes as of noon, just above the Sunday average of around 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, drivers taking the Pacific Highway route to Blaine were waiting 60 minutes, compared to the typical 36 minutes it usually takes to cross.

The Peace Arch and Lynden crossings were also above average, at 70 and 65 minutes, respectively.
