MISSION — Two new supportive housing sites have opened in the Fraser Valley, providing critical assistance to people experiencing homelessness, including those with complex mental-health and addiction challenges. The new facilities, located in Mission and Maple Ridge, offer safe, permanent housing and access to essential support services.

“We know the safest communities are those where all residents have their core needs met,” said Housing Minister Ravi Kahlon. “There is an urgent need to support people to move indoors where they can start to rebuild their lives. These 102 homes are another step forward in our commitment to meet anyone experiencing homelessness where they are at and work with them on their path to stability.”

In Mission, a three-storey building at 7460 Hurd St. offers 50 studio homes, including 12 units with complex-care housing services for residents with overlapping health challenges. Managed by Mission Community Services Society, the facility will provide round-the-clock support, including meals, life-skills training, and health care through Fraser Health’s complex-care program.

The Maple Ridge site features 52 studio units, each equipped with a private bathroom and kitchen. Fraser Health will partner with Coast Mental Health to provide on-site clinical support, including psychiatric and nursing care.
