Summerland killings linked to Abbotsford double fatal crash
ABBOTSFORD — Two bodies that were discovered in a burned-out vehicle Saturday morning (Aug. 6) on Garnet Valley Road in Summerland, have been tied to a deadly crash that claimed the lives of two others the next day in Abbotsford. Police in Abbotsford released the information today.
Investigators with the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit have determined the two individuals in Summerland, died as the result of foul play. A stolen car was linked to the deaths.
The next day, officers from the Abbotsford Police Department located what was believed to be the stolen vehicle. Officers pursued the vehicle in an attempt to stop it. But the vehicle crashed along Maclure Road and the two occupants were killed.
The Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIO) began an investigation into the incident shortly after Sunday’s crash.
