CHILLIWACK — The M.P. for Chilliwack-Hope is advising residents of the opportunity to nominate individuals for the King Charles III Coronation Medal. In a news release, Mark Strahl said the prestigious honour recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities or the country.

“On May 6, 2023, we celebrated the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III,” said Strahl. “To mark this special occasion, a Coronation Medal was created to recognize 30,000 outstanding individuals across Canada. As a nominating partner, I have the honour of presenting 20 awards to deserving constituents in Chilliwack-Hope.”

Nominations are open until November 1. Eligible nominees must have made notable contributions at the community, regional, or national level, or achieved something abroad that brings credit to Canada. They must have been alive on May 6, 2023, the date of the coronation.

Nominees should be individuals who have helped build the Canada of today through long service, professional excellence, or deeds that reflect well on the nation. The medal will not be awarded to groups or couples, and self-nominations are not accepted.
