He expanded, “We have our Demolition Derby back, our amusement rides are back, we’ve got the Laughing Loggers back with a new show.”

With the heatwave still in effect for the weekend, Vanstone said he wants people to come prepared.

“We do have hydration stations and mist tents,” he remarked. “People are welcome to bring a field bottle of water or an empty refillable bottle, and they can refill it on-site.”

All in all, the busy fair manager said the Abbotsford Agrifair planning committee is thrilled to be back in full force.

“I think it’s just nice for us to be back, with no restrictions,” he said. “The buildings are open and it’s just nice to be back to normal.”

The fair will be making charitable donations with some of the funds received from the weekend to two special causes that are part of making the event a success.

“We have the Abbotsford Special Adventurers and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice—those are two volunteer groups, and they come, and they volunteer for the weekend, and we make donations to their respective organizations for coming out to volunteer,” he said.

Additionally, on Saturday night, the Fraser Valley Pride Association will have a 50/50 draw to raise funds for the work that they do for the youth in the Fraser Valley.

The event runs from July 29 to July 31, and gates are open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for students and seniors, and free for kids 10 and under. Parking is $5.
