Update: Prisoner who escaped from Chilliwack River Valley prison has been captured

CHILLIWACK — Mounties in Chilliwack say a prisoner has escaped from the Ford Mountain Correctional Centre in the Chilliwack River Valley.

According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener, police say Michael Lund escaped from Ford Mountain on Monday night, April 29 at approximately 11 p.m. Chilliwack RCMP says they are actively looking for Lund and are asking that the public be watchful for him as well.

Michael Lund is described as:

  • Height: 6’1”
  • Weight: 175 lbs
  • Hair: Brown
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Ethnicity: Caucasian male
  • 49 years of age

Police suspect that Lund has changed clothes since his escape. As a result, no clothing description is available to the public.
