CHILLIWACK — Investigators from the provincial Integrated Homicide Investigation Team advised Saturday morning that they are still looking for the suspect in a double homicide that occurred near downtown Chilliwack on Thursday.

Investigators are in the process of figuring out why Shestalo travelled to Bridal Falls in the aftermath of Thursday’s fatal shooting of two people in Chilliwack, in the 9700 block of McNaught Road.

The heavy police presence that inundated parts of Bridal Falls Provincial Park Friday morning has since ended. At least 10 police vehicles and an ambulance were on scene throughout the day Friday. All vehicular and pedestrian traffic into the park was blocked by an RCMP officer at a checkpoint. A police officer on scene Friday could be observed pointing his binoculars towards the hillside of Bridal Falls.
