Bridal Falls Provincial Park entrance closed by police incident

CHILLIWACK — A police incident is unfolding just east of Chilliwack inside Bridal Falls Provincial Park, where a heavy police presence is investigating.

An RCMP officer has blocked all vehicular and pedestrian traffic entering the park at the corner of Page Road and Cheam Road, just northwest of the park entrance. The checkpoint is located just behind the Shell gas station.

At least 10 police vehicles and an ambulance are on scene. The ambulance does not have its lights or sirens flashing.

An officer just beyond a police checkpoint could be seen aiming his binoculars towards the mountainside to the south and east of the park.
